FOOD SERVICE WORKER

Health and Human Services Department – Barron Center –  Nutrition Services – Full-Time (37.5 hrs.) position – Schedule is 6:45am – 2:45pm – includes weekend work and rotated holidays – two days off will be during the week.  You can make a real difference in your life and our residents’ lives.  The Barron Center is a 200+ bed long-term care facility with an excellent reputation for a caring, creative work environment.  We currently are looking for dedicated people to join our team.  General kitchen work – tray set-up, dish washing.  Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.; must possess valid Maine Class C driver’s license or ability to obtain within first six months of employment; must be able to follow oral and simple written instructions.  The successful candidate will be subject to a pre-employment physical exam.  Offers of employment are contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory criminal background check.  $432/week, starting pay rate.

DEVELOPMENT REVIEW COORDINATOR

Planning & Urban Development DepartmentInterested in working in one of the most dynamic cities in the northeast?  Want to work in a fast paced and collaborative environment?  We are seeking experienced candidates with excellent communication and technical skills for a Development Review Coordinator (DRC) position with the Department of Planning and Urban Development.  The DRC reviews site plans and inspects project compliance with Portland’s engineering and construction specifications, with emphasis on environmental protection, stormwater management, erosion and sedimentation controls, and site and subdivision layouts.  Responsible for overseeing performance guarantees for all site work, ensuring compliance with construction management plans, conducting follow-up enforcement inspections, and maintaining all project and annual inspection reports.

Work requires project management, technical analysis and excellent written and oral communication skills.   Excellent human relations and negotiation skills required.  Graduation from a college or university with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, or related field and a minimum of four (4) years of progressively responsible experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience in land development, land use, site planning, civil engineering, municipal planning and/or landscape architecture.  Salary range $51,285 to $54,405/year based on education and experience, plus 6% differential for attainment of certification as a Professional EngineerDeadline for applications for this position only is Tuesday, May 1, 2018.
